I hope that today's blood comes from a hemorroid that I had on top of the UC inflammation and not from a new flareup. So I didn't know if the urgency was because of the holidays and all the food I ate, or because of the colitis. since then I've kept using the HC suppositories on a sporadic basis (2 a week), but today I noticed a little blood on my stool again after about a week of having loose stools and urgency. So I just used up the sample canasa suppositories my GI gave me, but I already ran out like 3 weeks ago. I can't, and I'm not eligible for any sort of aid because I'm not American. It covers nothing, so I would need to pay the full $400 for 30 suppositories each month. The problem with canasa is that it it SUPER expensive for me I'm just an international student from Chile and my university's health plan sucks. My GI doctor prescribed me canasa suppositories to avoid the side effects of the HC suppositories (which I'm already having, joint pain, especially in my ankles). However, I've been on hydrocortisone suppositories since July. These last 3 months have been awesome, I was able to taper the prednisone. I had my first flare in march which started with mild bleeding in july it got bad after the colonoscopy that diagnosed UP, and I finally went on remission in late september.
